Artist Statement
This mural began with a desire to explore presence, power, and movement in a single image. I chose a reclining tiger, drawn to its balance of stillness and strength—something grounded yet alive. Using a doodle grid as my foundation, I approached the piece intuitively, letting the composition unfold as I painted.
I focused on building atmosphere and depth without losing the immediacy of mark-making. I’m chasing a kind of magic: painterly, layered, and loose—yet purposeful. This piece reflects a core theme in my work: the tension between control and spontaneity.
Ultimately, I hope the mural invites a moment of pause—something quietly powerful that meets viewers where they are and offers space to feel, reflect, and simply be.
