Kristy Lannan - The Unfinished Collection
 
The head, neck and upper shoulder of a male figure in profile facing left, missing the head above the cheekbone - cut symbolically and cleanly just below the eyes, leaving a space above which half a daisy floats in a background that almost seems liquid—purple and yellow tones. 
 
This painting was the first for me to finish the Unfinished Collection I brought to Kutenai Art Therapy Institute. I love the way this turned out. It has been on my wall for several months, and I often find myself lost. He is special to me. 
 
There is a second in this series, another male figure in the same pose but facing the opposite way. His head cut below the eyes half a sunflower above - blue and yellow tones. They mean so many things to me. In school, I am interested in Jungian theory and dream work. Jung spoke about the animus being the unconscious male part of a woman's self. Depending on a woman's male relationships, her animus can be a friend or foe of her psyche.
