One-of-a-kind bleach-painted T-shirt featuring a hand-painted snail on the front of a navy tee. Its spiraled shell opens into a pattern that feels both natural and mathematical—like growth drawn in glowing lines.
This is the shirt for days when slow is the only pace that makes sense.
When progress is measured in spirals, not straight lines.
When you know that carrying your home is its own kind of art.
Painted by hand with bleach on a Gildan Heavy Cotton (G5000) tee
Size: Medium
Fabric: 100% cotton
Washed and heat-set
Design placement: Snail with large spiral shell across the front
Each shirt is made with bleach, instinct, and a little bit of unapologetic glow.
Wear it when patience itself is your quiet rebellion.
Fractal Snail (M)
Some mornings I wake up with an animal in mind, and this time it was a snail. When I lived in the mountains of BC, I saw them often—small, steady travelers leaving trails of quiet wonder behind.
Painting this piece became all about texture and spiral. The snail’s shell feels like the universe itself: a reminder that we are all smaller parts of a bigger whole.
Snails teach me to slow down, to be present, and to trust the magic of moving at my own pace. I believe in a universal energy we’re all tapped into, and if we spent a little more time with snail energy, maybe we’d feel it more clearly.
So you found a shirt that whispered something to you. Cool.
Let’s make sure you and your new wearable art become fast friends.
❓ Is this shirt one-of-a-kind?
Yes. I bleach them all by hand. They’re a little chaotic, a little soulful, and completely unique. Like you.
❓ What size should I get?
They tend to fit like typical unisex sizes. But if you are unsure: Size up! I wear mine loose, like wearable billboards. That way the image flows, and I don’t feel squeezed by capitalism or cotton.
❓ What comes with the shirt?
Love. Some handmade stickers, a booklet with Certificate of Authenticity, my story about it, and care instructions. Probably a dog hair (sorry).
❓ Can I wash it?
Yep. Each piece is washed, dried, and heat-set before it leaves my hands. Bleach designs are permanent. Just wash cold and hang dry if you want it to last a long, weirdly beautiful life.
❓ Why is it $85?
Because this is wearable art — not fast fashion. Each one takes time, intention, and risk. No two are alike. You’re not just buying a shirt; you’re investing in a piece of art you can live inside of.
❓ Can I return it?
Nope. All sales are final. These shirts are one-of-a-kind, made by hand, and full of soul — just like you. That said, if it arrives damaged or doesn’t look the way you expected, email me at hello@kristylannan.com and I’ll try to make it right. I want you to feel good wearing your weird.
❓ What size is the model?
Did you just call me a model? Blush. I’m 5’2” and usually wear a Small in unisex shirts (which these are). But for this wearable art, I like to go big. Makes me feel like a walking canvas. Oversized is the move.
❓ Can I get a custom shirt?
Maybe. There’s a form on the shop page where you can suggest a design — or just email me if you’ve got a wild idea. I can’t promise I’ll say yes (each shirt has to feel right), but I love hearing sparks of inspiration.
❓ Do you ship outside Canada?
Yes! Shipping within Canada and the US is included in the $85 price.
International orders ship at a flat rate of $30 — it helps cover the cost of sending these heavy travelers across the ocean without surprises at checkout.
❓ Is it really worth $85?
Only if you believe in slow, soulful things. This isn’t a mass-produced shirt — it’s a fragment of my art practice, made wearable. It carries story, accident, and rebellion in every fiber. If you’re looking for perfect, head to the mall. If you’re looking for something alive, you’re in the right place.
