A friend suggested I make a zebra—and I almost didn't. Stripes add a level of detail I wasn't sure I wanted to deal with.

Lately I'd been drawing more directly on the fabric instead of projecting my designs first. It's messier. Less symmetrical. More human. I think I actually like working that way, even if it takes longer.

There's always a moment where I feel like I've lost the design in the bleach. That's usually when perfectionism starts telling me to fix it—or give up on it altogether.

I've learned to keep going.

This one reminded me that not everything needs to be perfectly planned.

No two zebra stripes are the same anyway.

Maybe that's the point.
